MARNEY-ROSE EDGE | The Quiet of the Nest is Where Dreams Come True

Opening Reception: Sat. May 3rd, 2pm – 4pm

In this exhibition the concept of the nest serves as both a metaphor and a motif representing a protected space where dreams in their earliest and most fragile forms are given room to grow. Full of movement and textures, using a collection of inorganic and organic tools, soft areas and crisp lines create a contrast within the paintings in which birds appear from the marks as if they have painted themselves into the narrative. Edge’s work explores the quiet sanctuaries we build, physical, emotional and spiritual, encouraging transformation. In the stillness of a protected space, imagination can take flight. Capturing the essence of this intimate space, the warmth of home and the fragile strength of new beginnings, each piece invites the viewers to pause, listen, and reconnect with their own inner dreamscape; because it is in the quiet where we finally hear what we are meant to become.

Marney-Rose Edge is a Vancouver based artist working in watercolours, acrylics, oils and charcoal, with her wide range of subject matters suggesting the medium. Edge is a Signature member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, serving on the Board of Directors for a number of years. She is also an elected member of the Society of Canadian Artists and an elected member of the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour. Her work is anchored in the fragility of nature, finding the beauty with an air of romance.

Join us for two different workshops with Marney-Rose Edge, abstracting the landscape or abstracting the still life in oils and cold wax, on May 7th and May 21st. Find more information and register online.
