ALLAN FOREST | Elemental World of the Unseen

A photographic exhibition by Madeira Park artist Allan Forest exploring the unique rainforest of the Sunshine Coast and expressing the energy and movement felt upon entering this remarkable landscape. Intrigued by the experience of rapture, an overflowing of wonder that connects Forest to all around him is captured in his work. For Forest, this exhibition is the culmination of over 50 years as a photographer since beginning his career as a commercial photographer in Toronto in 1971 after graduating from Ryerson Institute of Technology. Forest uses a technique called internal camera movement or ICM. The general rule is there is motion in the photograph that is generated within the camera using one unique exposure, without filters or special effects, and it has become a fascinating new paradigm for photographers seeking a fresh vision.
