SHOUT OUT | Youth Art Exhibition 2026

Sunshine Coast youth aged two to eighteen are invited to submit their artwork of any size or medium for display at the Gallery during our annual youth exhibition Shout Out, running March 12th – 29th, 2026. In addition to offering an inspiring body of work that represents the creativity of our community’s youth, this exhibition is also an opportunity for young people to experience what it is like to be a professional exhibiting artist at GPAG. Class/group art projects are also welcome! Throughout the exhibition we will be open every day of the week, and there will be several different fun crafting stations set up for all visitors to enjoy! Drop off your submissions March 5th – 8th, 11am – 4pm. 

Please read the Submission Guidelines below before submitting your artworks. Complete the Submission Form online below before dropping off your artworks, or print a copy of the form and return it when you drop off your artwork. The deadline to drop off your artwork and to return your submission form in person or online is March 8th at 4PM. 

 

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

1. PARTICIPANTS: All residents of the Sunshine Coast ages 2 to 18 are eligible to participate.

2. SUBMITTED WORK:
a. Participants can submit up to 2 pieces of artwork. They can be any medium (drawings, paintings, prints, mixed media, photography, animation, video, sculpture, etc.) and related to any theme.
b. Please label each piece of work on the back with artist name, age, title of the artwork, contact person and telephone number.
c. Please attach the completed submission form to one of the pieces. Package pieces together carefully -GPAG is not responsible for damaged or unlabeled work.
d. Pieces intended to be wall mounted must be ready to hang on the wall with a hanging wire or another means. Pieces that are not ready for hanging are at risk of damage during installation.
e. The Gallery will endeavour to showcase all submissions, however space limitations may restrict the Gallery from exhibiting both submitted artworks from each participating artist.

3. SALES: In the art industry, galleries receive a sales commission for exhibition sales. Shout Out exhibition participants have the option of listing artwork for sale, with a 15% contribution of sales as a donation to the ongoing fundraising for our community public art programs.

4. DEADLINE: Submission forms and artwork can be dropped off at GPAG (431 Marine Drive, Gibsons, BC) between 11 AM and 4 PM on March 5 – 8th. The submission deadline is 4PM, March 8th.

5. EXHIBITION: Artwork will be exhibited from March 12 to 29th, 2024.

6. PICK WORK UP: March 29th between 4 – 5 PM. If you are unable to pick up your artwork at this time, please arrange to pick it up during regular gallery hours no later than April 15th. Work not picked up by April 15th will become the property of GPAG for sale, disposal or recycling.

7. TEACHERS & SCHOOLS: Class art projects are welcomed! Please contact the Gallery by email at info@gpag.ca to arrange custom display details or to request pickup of student art.

Drop off artwork at GPAG March 5th - 8th, 11AM - 4PM. Before dropping off your artwork at GPAG, please make sure your artwork has a label securely attached to the back or base of the piece, listing the title, medium, artist's name, and price (if applicable). If submitting multiple pieces, ALL artworks must have individual labels.(Required)
Without a label securely attached to each individual piece containing all requested information, your artwork may not be included in the exhibition.
All Shout Out artwork should be picked up on March 29th, 4pm - 5pm. If you are unable to pick up Shout Out artwork at this time, please arrange to pick it up during regular gallery hours (11AM - 4PM, Thursday - Monday). Artwork not picked up by April 15th will become the property of GPAG for sale, disposal, or recycling. A designated person may pick up your Shout Out artwork on your behalf. If applicable, please provide their name below.(Required)
