Drawing on his observations of many pilgrimages on 4 continents over the last 50 years, Hiroshi Shimazaki will comment on various aspects of this pan-religious global phenomenon, including this exhibition focused on India, which have brought excitement and enjoyment to his life journey of continuous learning.

SPEAKER:

Born and raised in Tokyo, Shimazaki holds an undergraduate degree in political science and economics (Japan) and graduate degrees in cultural geography (Canada). Now Professor Emeritus, he taught various undergraduate courses in International Management and Cultural Geography and developed and taught graduate courses in Lateral Thinking, Schematic Summation, and Management and World History at the University of Lethbridge. He is an elected member of Società delle Belle Arti Circolo degli Artisti di Firenze, Italy(est.1843) and Canadian Society of Painters in Water Colour (CSPWC, est. 1925).  He has published 15 academic and art-related books and presented and published some 130 academic papers including a number on the successful integration of Art and Social Science. He now resides in Halfmoon Bay.
