FAE LOGIE Urban Forest Works (mixed media)

Fae Logie is an artist whose practice spans the scientific and the poetic, the conceptual and environmental. Embracing elements of sculpture, drawing, and photography she utilizes juxtaposition of found and manufactured objects within the context of real and imagined space. Urban Forest Works articulates a correspondence of dwelling and forest.

Interested in making connections between local and distant landscapes, Logie has exhibited across Canada and participated in international artist residencies and shows in Reykjavik, Iceland, King’s Lynn, UK, Whangarai, New Zealand and Trondheim, Norway.

Logie moved to Bowen Island, BC seven years ago to be part of a co-housing community and work in a more rural setting, yet still be accessible to Vancouver. She has a MFA degree from the University of British Columbia, though initially she studied science at Simon Fraser University, a discipline that continues to inform her work.

RYLEY O’BYRNE Textures of Ritual (mixed media)

Ryley O’Byrne is an artist and writer who resides in Roberts Creek, BC. Her work explores relational dynamics, intimacy, and the process of meaning-making through a diverse practice encompassing ceramics, text, video, textile, and installation. Textures of Ritual considers our origin, and then glances self-consciously towards our curious entanglement with technology — a new sort of evolution.

O’Byrne’s projects have been shown as a part of the City of Vancouver’s Public Art Program, at Trinity Square Video (Toronto), the Anthology Film Archives (New York City), La Cité de la Mode (Paris), Projet Pangée (Montreal), and in Vancouver at The International Film Centre, The Cinematheque, and Sunset Terrace.

She attended The Mountain School of Art in Los Angeles and was a member of the Critical Art Writing Ensemble III at the Banff Centre.
