a series of events in conjunction with “OUR FOREST”
Sunday September 7, 1-3pm:
‘Essence of Our Forest”: Barb Higgins Xwu’p’alich, and Robyn Hume. Presentation of poems and stories along with plant healing wisdom, written for the old growth forest.
Thursday September 11, 2pm:
‘The Artist’s Muses Materials and Methods’: a panel discussion. Textile artists group “Out of Bounds” reveal their roots of inspiration.
Saturday September 13, 2-4pm:
‘Spoken Word and Simple Song’ This event highlights the literary and lyrical muse of an eclectic group of coastal writers. Just as the forest offers a rich element of biodiversity, so does this presentation weave a multifaceted tapestry of words. Jill Conway and Friends.
Sunday September 14, 1-3pm:
‘Essence of Plant Magic Through Song, Drumming and Story’: Robyn Hume and Barb Higgins Xwu’p’alich, with singer Holly Higgins, and a collection of drummers performing.
Monday September 15, 1pm:
Film event with Leonie Croy of ‘Sunshine Coast in Transition Initiative’, Dana Wilson and Kym Chi of One Straw Society: a short film on our Forest; ties with sustainable living from a transition viewpoint.
