Debris Fields is an ongoing body of work triggered by the tsunami in Japan of March 2011. Barbara Langmaid was riveted to all available images, struck by the fragility of our human-scaled lives. In her words, it revealed the visceral and ragged evidence of decay, death and disaster, and also an intensified awareness of life and beauty and richness that she found inexplicable, compelling and desperate.
